Honours and Awards

For detailed guidance on how to write a nomination and fill in an honours nomination form see the Gov.UK The Honours System website.

Honours Lists are published twice a year at New Year and in mid-June on the date of The King’s Official Birthday. Anyone can receive an award if they reach the required standard of merit or service and honours lists contain a wide variety of people from different backgrounds, communities and organisations.

The Honours system is administered by the Government and more detailed information can be obtained from the Government’s Gov.uk website as well as from the British Monarchy website.

Any member of the public may nominate a person for a national honour – be it a colleague, volunteer or e.g. a teacher. The Lord Lieutenant would like to encourage members of the public to put forward nominations.

Forms and guidance notes are available online at the above links.
